Sticky Toffee Pud Poem.

mix -
into a toffee sponge
mejool dates soaked in tea, .
finely chopped ginger

heat -
butter, cream, demarara,
a lavish splash of ginger syrup;
to make toffee sauce

serve -
warm from the oven
float toffee sauce, and a scoop
of vanilla ice-cream

taste -
like Verdi's La Traviata
rich and lush, chill with heat,
a lucullan feast.
