Industrial Madness

It's blowing in the wind
silting up lakes and rivers
less than half our topsoil
remains, it runs off fields
and gurgles down drains.

We're losing ground faster
it's such a disaster, as floods
ruin farms on fertile plains .
Thanks to industrial farms
what once took two years

to silt up, takes two months.
For every ton of food sent
to market, those farms lost
seven tons of good topsoil.
We can't afford to carry on

Several different pesticides
on our plate, designed to kill.
A rate of one in three or four
will get cancer, it's epidemic.
Look for a cause, not the cure.
