Leaning into the Wind.

A strong wind blusters
in from a tempestuous sea.
I watch it playfully wrestle
the new translucent leaves

Boisterous and puffed up,
the wind swaggers up the lane
sweeps on it's merry way,
visible as it touches solidity.

The wind strikes whip chords
round green leafy branches
sets them tossing and twirling
rustling green leafy skirts.

The trees show me the wind,
this passing dervish who takes
away my breath, but perhaps
my words are best left unsaid.

Let it ruffle my hair, I will bend
before the wind. When it's gone
I'll stand tall, heart intact and feel
earth's pulse, hear her breathe.
