Read introduction

This poem came from an image I made called The Eye's of Rust.
I am also writing some music to go with it and will be posting both very soon on my website

The Eye's of Rust

_self_portrait_by Alan John Hewitt10 Feb 2014

Your soul has frozen my friend
I can tell your eyes are as cold as ice
They have rusted like steel on the inside
What has happen to you old friend
Why has life given you this heart of steel
These eye's of rust cold as ice
Where is the friend I once knew

Your soul has frozen my friend
I can tell your eyes are as cold as ice

Time spins us around like a spinning top
The clock my friend does not hang upon the wall
NO it spins around on the ground
One steps upon it after the dreams
Then steps off after it has spun
For nine hours or more

Your soul has frozen my friend
I can tell your eyes are as cold as ice

But where have you been
Where are you going
Are you still my friend
Have you become my shadow
The eye's of rust have frozen your soul
Your soul has frozen my friend
I can tell your eyes are as cold as ice.
