The sunlight through my window.

There’s something magical,
when the soft sunlight
filters through the slits in your window,
the golden hem of her dress briefly blinding you
and then,
settling upon you,
creating a pattern on your skin unlike any other,
and the breeze arrives,
tickling the pale hairs on your legs,
she flutters between your toes,
running her fingertips around your ankles,
the world seems at peace for a moment in time
and though you know that there are troubles now,
and in the future,
you almost forget about them for just a second,
held captive by the sun and her companion.
