The Tiger

I stand still only to avert the attention
Of the tiger in the woods
He finds himself bored of me
And rids his gaze of my humanoid figure
By turning aside and studying a tree
Assessing the leap - he determines if
It be a worthy jump - I admire his gall
It is much too tall for him
He thinks so too - I think
For again he swivels his mighty head
To peer once more to me
Thinking fast - I offer him
A swig of bourbon from my hip flask
It's aged - I tell him - ten years
He seems impressed and weighs his
Appetite against tasteful liquor
He decides his belly can growl
And joins me in a drink.
