Read introduction

This lyric poem was written during my tenure in a pop-punk band, and I had people telling us that I was a poor choice for a lead singer, and that the songs the band had written before I had joined were just as bad and they'd only get worse. I had a few situations where someone told me that there is no point in life or anything. I don't believe that, and not only is this a shout out to T-N for his ignorant BS, but a shout out to a neighborhood that always said I couldn't do what I wanted to. That the only choice was for me to become a broken alcoholic child just like all the rest.

Tell T-N to Suck On This One

Don’t know how you can be so fake,
Hiding deep within your own self hate.
You’re so self absorbed with your own disappointment,
Refuse to see the world with any enjoyment.

Trap yourself in your tiny cage,
And hide away until you croak from old age,
We won’t stand by,
And let our dreams die.
We can be anything
We can do everything

In your eyes everything just dies,
So why even try, when you can just tell lies?
Look to the sky and what do you see,
A big middle finger to you and me.
Won’t sit here and listen to your shit,
We won’t live life as a PC hypocrite,
We can’t get by, surviving till we die,
Can’t understand how you love this lie.

Lock yourself away and lose the key,
And sit idly by, don’t forget to breathe
We won’t stand by,
And let our dreams die
We can be anything
We can do everything

We won’t sit neatly in your dotted lines,
We’re not something that you need to define.
And if you feel that you must take score
Hope you know how to deal being poor.
We may be kids from across the street
But we’re drumming to a different beat.
We may not have what it takes to be on top,
But that won’t ever make us stop.

Throw away everything that you thought you were
This is a declaration of war
We won’t stand by
And let our dreams die
We can be anything
We can do everything.

Trap yourself in your tiny cage,
And hide away until you croak from old age,
Lock yourself away and lose the key,
And sit idly by, don’t forget to breathe
Throw away everything that you thought you were
This is a declaration of war
We won't stand by
And let our dreams die
We can be anything
We can do everything.
