This poem is in direct reference to how I deflect my mistakes on my relationship with my ex-girlfriend.

My Excuse

I never understood the reasons behind my choices
Nor could I even hear the voices
They cast like shadows upon oceans
The wind it blows
Tossing me from side to side
And all I do is try to survive
For one more night
In spite of all the darkness inside
I deflect my problems
And hide behind the sorrow
I've built into your name.
You're still my excuse.
For everything I do.
You're still my excuse
Even though our time is through.
I blame it on you.
I can't seem to take my share of the blame
I blame it on you.
It's all I've learned to do.
