You Can't Reach For a Woman as She's Walking Away - She's Probably Leaving Because There is No Reason to Stay

You can’t reach for a woman as she’s walking away
Things just won’t ever be the same,
And as hard as you try to turn it around;
Once you’ve done wrong
There’s no turning back.
You can’t change the past, you can only change
Who you are going to become;
These lessons are hard but they
Need to be learned;
There’s no turning back.
You can’t move the hands of the clock in reverse
No matter how many times you right out a verse
No amount of words can change anything;
When you stand by, the world moves forward.
You can’t beat yourself up just because of one failure;
Even if it makes sense to berate yourself,
And I may sound like a hypocrite
Coming from me, this is ludicrous
Because I can’t stop
Destroying myself.
Honesty is something to reach for before you die,
Everyone though learns how to lie;
It’s harder to be honest,
It’s easier to hide from the truth
The truth is;
You can’t change the past, you can only change
Who you are going to become;
These lessons are hard but they
Need to be learned;
There’s no turning back.
Time goes on for those who try;
Though when you just sit idly by.
The world moves on and you get left behind.
We pay for the choices we make.
You can’t change the past, you can only change
Who you are going to become;
These lessons are hard but they
Need to be learned;
There’s no turning back.
