Read introduction

This was inspired by a Ray Bradbury story called The Wind in which one of the characters remarked that the circumstances would make a great poem.

I know the Secrets of the Wind.

I know the secrets of the wind
for what it aches
its origins
for I have glimpsed inside
its elemental mind.
When the iron sky
begins to boil
and the beast
throws down
its ghastly coil
the wind's come ravening
to sow your death
to reap the sweet warm blossom
of your breath
to harvest the treasure
from your treasured chest
to blow a gale
and howl afresh.
All swelled with plundered lungs.
It speaks a thousand
sundered tongues.
