A History of My Times

Markets were our masters,
plutocrats our priesthood,
slavery our passion.
Genocide was normal.
The air filled up with poison.
People loved their autos
and lived inside computers.
Families were broken:
children had no fathers;
men were tramps and bandits;
women, neutral workers;
cities, hell envisioned.
Language lost its lustre.
Love was mechanistic.
Nothing had no owner.
Falsehood was our credo.
Power stole our freedom.
Happiness escaped us.
