Once we move from this life to death there is no coming back.

A Glimpse

She wanted to experience death
And then return to life;
She thought that this would give her
A glimpse of the other side.
She even bought a casket
And put it in a room;
One night she climbed into it,
The darkness like a tomb.
The lid came slowly down,
Her skin was rather pale;
Then she felt the permanence:
The hammer and the nail.
“This wasn’t what I wanted,”
She regretfully did say,
“My visit was for just a glimpse;
I didn’t want to stay!”
