I love the ocean,

tranquil or passionate,

summer green or winter grey.

She is my soul mate,

my unrequited love.

The ebb and flow reflection

of my life and death

and resurrection.

So why do I live

a thousand miles

from tides?

Perhaps the wanting

and the waiting

spike my soul

and bring the words.

Happiness would be too easy

and peace is like a drug.

It puts my muse to sleep.
