The world without him.

Never What It Seemed

Those memories of days we spent
In summer’s golden hue,
Have left me weary and longing for
Just one last breath of you.

I move amidst a sea of eyes
That emanate their emptiness,
A heaving human mass of pain,
Tormentor of my loneliness.

And evermore the darkest thoughts
Persist to haunt me in my dreams,
For you and I have ceased to be
And life was never what it seemed.
