You might call it 'scribbled words'
but I'll call each song: poetry
for it soothes the wound that hurts
and opens up new sights to see.
And even when the hope for mending
has had faded and long gone,
poetry brings understanding,
and you aren't so alone.
Poetry is not perfection
but a string of shiny beads
forging a universal connection
that every living human needs.
So I'll keep writing, steadily and stubbornly,
for the one gift I can share is my scribbled poetry.
