Read introduction

An attempt to describe the search - and need - for (words of) beauty in a world where it is sometimes very difficult to find or see some.

Song of Beauty. (157)

Here I search for words of beauty
to balance dark with light
for it seems to be a poet's duty
to be the dawn after the night.

To balance dark with light
I search my mind, my heart, my soul,
to be the dawn after the night,
and unite the broken parts as whole.

I search my mind, my heart, my soul
for words that have their lustre still
and unite the broken parts as whole,
but beauty's voice sounds rather shrill.

For words that have their lustre still
I dig the deepest depth inside
but beauty's voice sounds rather shrill
from the pitch-black well where words reside.

I dig the deepest depth inside,
for it seems to be a poet's duty.
From the pitch-black well where words reside,
here I search for words of beauty.
