Read introduction

In Sinti tradition there are said to be 3 rivers flowing towards a person’s Soul or Spirit. Each river has a name alas I forget myself now. They represent family, friends and lovers. When all rivers are flowing freely they can nourish the self to reach further towards one’s purpose. I called this poem Rishalti.

This poem is dedicated to Oein DeBhairduin (Oein Warde), whose light continues to illuminate and be a source of awe for all who know him. Be Blessed my friend. x

Rishalti

In three rivers,
My soul shall grow,
My body nourished,
And my Spirit cherished.

In three rivers,
Myself known,
Reflections cast,
And illusions torn.

In three rivers,
Dark and Light held in renown,
With one as many,
And many as one.

In three rivers,
Family, friends and lovers known,
My body nourished,
And my Spirit cherished.
