Leaves crunch, twigs break.
My whole life's a mistake.
I'm running away.
From all the expectations.
From their dissatisfaction.
The only solution is running away.
My legs are aching,
My lungs burning.
But still, I'm running away.
Burying in shadows, burrowing out of sight,
My cowardly steps fill the night.
I can't stop myself from running away.
I've blocked out the sun
I've killed the fun.
I'm too ashamed to be seen in the light of day.
My life's a mess, I must confess,
But I refuse to run from what comes next.
I have decided that this cowardice ends today.
