For Sophie Scholl
I work very near Ludwig-Maximillian University in Munich, and twice in the past fortnight I have been in to the main building to look at the memorial to Sophie Scholl. She was beheaded for treason in 1943 for producing and distributing anti-Nazi leaflets. On her way to execution she said "Such a fine, sunny day, and I have to go." Even the executioner and jail staff were impressed by her bravery. I feel she has a lot to teach us today.
