Read introduction

I'm interested in wildness - wildness in nature, and wildness in our heads... our unconscious minds.

Another England

Mistaken for gusting leaves
Swirling mice chase
Around each other
Across paths at dusk;

A fox trots insolently
From hunger-shredded sacks
Leaving rubbish strewn
Across trimmed gardens;

Seagulls view picnics
With yellow eyes,
While behind the skirtings
Rats scratch busily.

There before us,
There when we’ve gone,
Their waves touch ours
Out of phase:

More wildly visceral,
Savage but less cruel,
Another England rustles
In still night woods.
