Read introduction

As a child I thought if I loved something ENOUGH - a teddy bear say, or a parent - I could make it live, and love me back.

I've learned otherwise.

A Relic of Childhood

Seeing once more the
Old friend's stitched smile
He remembered hugs
Tight enough to press

Part of a soul
Into a ragged heart,
And make it skip
With a seemed beat.

The spell was
Omnipotent but mortal,
And in black bead eyes
He sees now only

The twice reflected failure
To love enough,
And to ever
Be loved back.
