Saltaire A Jewel in the Valley

Pz-avatarby Poddi j Bott09 Jan 2014

From Saltaire many places you can see,
Baildon then look left to Long Lee,
Down the Aire valley then back to Shipley.

Saint Ives, Milner fields and Shipley Glen,
Heaton, Allerton and the village of Harden,
Cullingworth, Keighley and then down to Wilsden.

The Becks of Eldwick, Loadpit and the bottom Dam,
The fast flowing river Aire into which they ran
The mighty Leeds Liverpool canal, dug by man.

There are green fields and many a woodland walk,
A Rowing club, fishing contest and lots of talk,
Also from that Parrot `Salty` a loud squawk.

Houses, shops, mill and The Famous Hockney Gallery,
Cobbled roads, narrow streets and places to eat for you and me,
Its well worth a day visit, there’s lots to do and see.
Saltaire, `The Place to Be`.
