Reading the Odyssey

The Wind

The wind has reached its Apogee.
Gusting wildly in the garden.
Visiting the flowers and trees
With her Cold Caress.
The Birds are hanging on the branches.
Poor sods they swing.
Still the wind scuffs around.
Sniffing at my window beseeching my egress.
And the wine tastes cool in my throat.
As lying on my back
I dream of the great Ulysses
Bound to his mast.
While the Sirens sing eternally.
Of secrets whispered.
And mysteries manifold.
