Today I went walking through Times Square. Again.
Lost in the sea of busy bodies, and occupied minds.
Deafened and alone.
Trying to make a few bucks out of some couples of hours
Then, I was startled by a tap on the shoulder
by a pleasantly unfamiliar voice.
A rather unorthodox connection.
‘How do I get to the nearest subway?’
Suddenly I felt an enthralling joy bubbling in my chest
for but a brief moment I was a guide, a luminary light
engaged in human activity.
‘Take a left and go down for three blocks’
And just like that, I was lost again.
In the waves of people filling the busy street.
As if nothing ever happened.
