T here through the seasons from summer to spring
H e stops the winged creatures from coming within.
E njoying the peace and the quiet all day –
S weet head of turnip and body of hay.
C olour co-ordinate, just like the drills –
A man of the pastures not of the hills.
R esplendent he stands guard over his field
E nsuring the farmer will have a good yield.
C apuchin – the children call out his name
R unning around him as part of their game…
O ver the hedgerows, high in the sky
W ings are “a flapping” bidding goodbye.
