8. LIFE AND DEATH.

This is pure and simply an anti-drink/driving poem. Those who persist in it can ruin so many lives. Stop now.

Killer Hangover.

Eyes towards Heaven, lifeless and dead…
Staring at nowhere, sunk in your head…
When death embraced you, were you ready to go?
If not, then it’s sad – though you’ll never know.
For murder most foul was yours’ on this day
As bloodied and bowed on the pavement you lay –
A victim of youth and a victim of fear,
Of a heavy right foot and way too much beer.
But the law did not save you, this day was your last…
And for why? Just bravado and driving too fast.
Now the kids will go hungry and this night they will cry,
For their mother has left without saying “Goodbye”.
