Read introduction

This poem was written about my two grandsons and is about the pleasure I get from watching and listening to them play in their own little world. The delightful imaginations of children's play brings such joy to me.

Young Grandsons

Alex_and_me_4-2013by Sheila Garcia02 May 2014

The young knights shouting in the early morn,
Sometimes brave firefighters or lions and bears,
Daring rescues or just going to work
Imaginations run wild
I enter their world to observe and enjoy
My late life childhood I relish and hold dear
For I know they will grow and leave too soon
From childhood fantasies to grownup boys
And some day they will take my place
As a grandparent to once again enter the world
Of fantasies galore to embrace
