The little village lane keeps still even as a voice thunders,
O 'England, O 'England, upon you in a happy hour
lights up the dog violets against the spoils of
centuries past!
The sea wall
overlooks a
victory I have not yet had.
A great span holds humble,
the Humber guard, over
the mouth of the sea.
Not even a stumble of lightening
could pronounce my fated glee!
Arise!
My good gulls.
Arise, and fly free.
